Who are we?

We are Siru and Rich! We met in 2016 at Meadowview Biological Research Station in Virginia. In 2016 Siru came all the way from Finland to intern at Meadowview where Rich had been working since 2014 as the main horticulturist. Siru has a Bachelors Degree in Horticulture from Finland’s HAMK University, and Rich a Bachelors degree in Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation from Brigham Young University. We both share a passion for horticulture, environmental responsibility, and conservation.

We married in 2018 and moved to Tennessee in 2020 where we worked as horticulturists for Tennessee Naturescapes Native Plant Nursery from 2020 to 2025. We have two daughters, born in 2022 and 2025 that keep us busy! We are now devoted full time to 1) parenting and 2) running our home nursery business in preparation for life’s next adventures!

How are these plants produced?

All the plants are nursery produced on-site. We grow all of our Sarracenia from seed and keep them outside 365/24/7 but also do divisions on specific Sarracenia individuals to preserve the unique traits. As for Nepenthes we take cuttings and grow some from seed. They are in our greenhouse. Butterworts we produce from leaf pullings and grown under household conditions.
