Utricularia gibba

$11.00

Also called the horned bladderwort. This grows as a free floating aquatic plant or in saturated soil conditions catching small aquatic invertebrates (including mosquito larvae!). Small yellow blooms usually appear in spring or summer. The plants seem mostly to bloom only when they have already filled and crowded their growing space, and especially if allowed to grow semi- terrestrially on the surface of saturated or slightly flooded peaty soil.

Can grow vigorously and fill space quickly in optimal conditions. For use in ponds, bog garden pools, and even planted aquaria!

Shipped “bare root” ( though there are no roots!) as a generous “pinch” of its tangled stems.
